no one believe they can do /it/. whatever it may be.
they can't run a marathon because they don't have enough stamina.
they can't get over heartbreak because it hurts too much.
they can't afford a house meet someone they love have children enjoy their lives do what they want to.
well..you're halfway there.
think about it...if you couldn't do it then why are you here?
you're the combination of gametes that didn't die. as a little sperm you WON! out of millions and millions and millions over that life time YOU were the one who clung on and formed a little life.
you then managed to grow and develop and become a tiny person in the span of just 9 months (give or take). that's incredible, surely? not only did you manage to beat the rest of them (and even better not just end up in a tissue at the end of a lonely evening :s!) but you managed to develop into a tiny human, and even more you were BORN, the most traumatic experience a person will supposedly ever encounter. your skulls got crushed and squeezed and you were all misshapen and red and ugly and SCREAMING your little lungs out. you could scream within seconds. within a few hours your life was uprooted from comfort and warmth and provisions to the world. The big, wide scary world full of endless possibilities, hope and fear and you did the only thing you knew how at the time and screamed and screamed and screamed, until you were held and then everything was ok again because you knew that someone loved you. you just innately knew it. it was instinct.
and someone will always love you, someone will always support you and be there for you and encouraging you. things may not always be smooth going but thats when you just push past it and re-emerge with a smile because you have to, and you know afterwards you'll be even stronger. whether that person is your mum, your dad, your sister, your brother, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your ex, your best friend or even your dog..someone loves you more than anything in the world and always will.
screaming is the second instinct. it's scary and it's a change and so you scream. we all do it now..but in a different way. and i don't just mean emotionally. we all have our personal 'scream'. it's the feeling of release, from doing something you know how to do and you love to do. it's the feeling that you get when you do something that might not help the issue directly but it helps how you feel. that could be painting, or playing an instrument, or doing maths, or going for a run. whatever it is, it's your personal scream and we all have one...and it is used more and more in times of need.
so if we can get through ALL of that, why can't we do /it/. we've already won, goddamnit, because we're HERE against all odds we exist. it's scientifically impossible but we do. and if we can do that then we can do anything.
all you need is the ability to love, and the ability to 'scream'.
then you can do anything.
